HBOR HBOR Gathered Leading Croatian Exporters at Zadar Conference: Focus on Investment and Competitiveness
At the 21st HBOR’s Conference on Export Promotion, that took place in Zadar on 6 November 2024, the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (HBOR) gathered the leading representatives of the Croatian economy and exporters with the aim of strengthening financial and strategic support for Croatian exports.

As part of this year's conference, a special emphasis was placed on the impact of deglobalisation and fragmentation of the international trade on the Croatian exporters as well as on the changes brought by geopolitical risks, climate change, wars and cyber (in)security in the dynamics of the global trade.

All these topics were discussed on two very interesting panels, the first of which was dedicated to exactly these challenges that entrepreneurs face every day as well as to the ways in which they managed to adapt to them, whereas the second panel focused on the concept of smart industrial specialisation and a discussion on how Croatian industry could use innovation, technological progress and sustainability to achieve greater competitiveness in the global market.

In his opening address, Hrvoje Čuvalo, President of the Management Board of HBOR, highlighted the key results achieved by HBOR in the first nine months of 2024. He stressed that HBOR had approved around EUR 600 million in new loans, of which as much as 90 percent for investment projects, whereas the volume of coverage of export transactions had reached EUR 738 million. "Our goal is to continuously invest in projects that not only modernise our economy, but enable our exporters to adapt to global trends and strengthen their positions in the international market," said Čuvalo.

Once again, the conference demonstrated the key role of HBOR as a driver of the economy and a provider of support for Croatian exporters, while emphasising HBOR's readiness to respond to increasing challenges in an increasingly dynamic and challenging global environment.
