Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (HBOR) has become a member of the global Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) initiative, a network of financial institutions dedicated to measuring and disclosing greenhouse gas emissions  (GHG) associated with financing and investments.

By joining this initiative, HBOR further strengthens its role in sustainable finance, with the aim of increasing transparency and supporting efforts to decarbonise the economy. By adopting the PCAF methodology, HBOR will assess more precisely the impact of its activities on the environment, thereby creating the basis for making informed decisions on financing and strengthening of responsible business.

The importance of this initiative is reflected in several key aspects:

  • Measurement and management of emissions - enables better understanding and reduction of environmental impact of financed activities.
  • Sustainable business enhancement - contributes to the development of strategies that support the green transition.
  • Support to global goals - contributes to the alignment of financial institutions with international standards of sustainability and emissions reduction.
  • Strengthening of cooperation with entrepreneurs - enables better assessment and  directing investments towards sustainable projects.
By joining PCAF, HBOR continues to build its sustainable finance strategy, ensuring long-term benefits for the economy and the environment. This initiative is another step towards strengthening of responsible financing and supporting of entrepreneurs in adjusting their businesses to sustainable standards.
