HBOR obtained Croatian Sustainability Index award in the public enterprises category
The Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development has obtained this year's Croatian Sustainability Index (HRIO) award in the public enterprises category, awarded by the Croatian Sustainability Index Commission at the 16th Conference on Sustainable Development. The conference was held at Esplanade Zagreb Hotel on 13th November and was organised by the Croatian Business Council for Sustainable Development and the Croatian Employers' Association. The HRIO award was presented to HBOR by H.E. Charlotte van Baak, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
„I would like to thank the Croatian Business Council for Sustainable Development and the Croatian Employers’ Association for organising the Croatian Sustainability Index competition and for this valuable award, by which our contribution in this important economic segment has been recognised. We are proud to be part of this community, to be among businessmen who connect their business activities and business results with environmental protection and the progress of society in the best possible way," said on that occasion Alan Herjavec, Member of the Management Board of HBORHBOR-a Alan Herjavec.
He added that HBOR's role, as the development and export bank of the Republic of Croatia, was to support the green transition and thus ensure financial stability and sustainable and inclusive economic growth. "HBOR has recognised for many years the importance of the sustainability aspect in the financing activities of the Croatian economy and includes environmental criteria, such as DNSH, in almost all credit placements it approves. I would like to thank our clients, partner institutions and HBOR employees who are dedicated to incorporating sustainable practices into their areas of work," concluded Herjavec.
HRIO award is presented annually to companies in 4 main categories: small, medium-sized, large and public enterprises, and to companies that achieve the best results in a particular area of sustainable practices in 6 categories.
