HBOR HBOR's representatives at Lider Financial and Investment Forum
HBOR’s representatives: Hrvoje Čuvalo, President of the Management Board, and Hrvoje Galičić, Advisor to the Management Board, participated in this year's Lider Financial and Investment Forum, held at the Westin Hotel in Zagreb on 5 & 6 June 2024.

Hrvoje Čuvalo, President of HBOR’s Management Board, participated in the first panel dedicated to sustainable financing for a long-term sustainable economy. He presented a new financial instrument of HBOR: the Urban Development Fund, which, he said, should become operational as early as the following week and which, for the first time, enabled public infrastructure projects to be enriched with commercial content using EU funds.

As he said, the beneficiaries of that instrument could be local government units, cities, counties, associations, institutions, but also companies, and they had EUR 170 million at their disposal, half of which came from EU funds, and the other half from HBOR’s funds.
"Today, you will hardly find a more favourable credit line than this," said Hrvoje Čuvalo, who added that HBOR had also positioned itself as a central institution for the promotion of venture capital.

On the second day of the forum, the Lider Invest award ceremony was held for the best small, medium and large production investments in Croatia. Hrvoje Čuvalo, President of HBOR’s Management Board, gave the award for the best medium-sized investment to the Podravka company, and the award was received on behalf of Podravka by Branimir Perković, Production Director.

Also on the second day, Hrvoje Galičić, Advisor to HBOR’s Management Board, participated in the panel: "Sources of finance, takeovers, acquisitions".

"In the last few years, HBOR has enabled the creation of five venture capital funds, from those that invest in start-ups, through funds for investing in companies in a more mature stage of development, to a technology transfer fund," said Galičić. As he explained, HBOR was primarily an investor in those funds who had entrusted funds to fund management companies whose financial professionals were looking for investment opportunities.
