Josip Pavković, Member of the Management Board, at the Annual Meeting of the Inter-American Development Bank Group (IDBG)
The Croatian delegation, led by Marko Primorac, Minister of Finance, participated in the Annual Meeting of the Inter-American Development Bank Group (IDBG) held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, from 7 March to 10 March 2024. The Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development was represented on that occasion by Josip Pavković, Member of the Management Board.
As part of the Annual Meeting, a meeting of the leaders of the Croatian delegation with the leaders of the Inter-American Development Bank took place, on the occasion of which the key role of the IDBG in the region of Latin America and the Caribbean was emphasised. At the same time, gratitude was expressed to Marko Primorac, Minister of Finance, who is a Governor of the Inter-American Development Bank Group (IDBG) on behalf of the Republic of Croatia, for the excellent cooperation and support of Croatia to the sustainable development of the region of Latin America and the Caribbean.
During the discussions, special attention was paid to key priorities such as gender equality, dealing with climate change and strengthening institutional capacities. The leaders of the IDBG informed the Croatian delegation in detail about the planned activities of the Bank in the upcoming period and expressed strong support to Croatia in the process of joining the OECD.
On the margins of the IDBG Annual Meeting, Josip Pavković had the opportunity to meet with Serge Ekué, President of the West African Development Bank, with the leaders of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration and of the Brazilian Development Bank as well as with numerous other representatives of international development institutions, most of which are members of the IDFC just like HBOR.
The Inter-American Development Bank was established in 1959 and is the leading development bank in providing long-term financing for the economic, social and institutional development of Latin America and the Caribbean. Croatia has been a member of the IDBG since 1993, and of the Inter-American Investment Corporation since 2019.
